Blood Grouping Reagents
Blood grouping reagents are intended to be used to determine the blood type by detecting the presence or absence of A, B or Rhesus Antigens on the surface of red blood cells using slide, tube or micro-titer plate test technique. The test is performed using whole blood samples or anticoagulant blood samples collected in EDTA, citrate or heparin tubes.
Based on hemagglutination principle, red cells carrying A, B and/or Rhesus Antigen will agglutinate with the specific antibody thus, indicating that the result is positive. The test is considered negative when no agglutination appears.
